Her handbag contained only pajamas, the girl herself said yesterday.
The senior student replied after a while, "What I wanted to wash wasn't my outer clothes..."
The boy at the desk blinked at his phone.
It seems that although her handbag is not big, it still contains a few pieces of clothing.
"For underwear, it's best to hand wash it yourself."
"Because it's hard to say what kind of dirty things the previous people washed." There was no reply from the other end, so he typed a little faster.
"Although the washing machines in the self-service laundry room can be disinfected before washing, some people will still feel uncomfortable about it."
"Of course, it's fine if you don't mind."
Two minutes later, the shy girl finally replied.
"Okay, then I'll wash it by hand myself."
Yamami Maki did not send any more messages until lunchtime.
Matsueda Jun sat at the dining table, thinking, "He might be busy inspecting the house, or he might be busy doing laundry."
The image of his senior squatting in the bathroom washing her underwear... He shook his head, finding it hard to imagine.
A pan-fried chicken thigh was placed in his bowl, and the boy looked up.
Yosei Kurusu's eyes sparkled as she looked at him eagerly.
"So, any ideas for a new song?"
“No way it’s that fast…” Jun Matsueda put the chicken leg into his mouth without any politeness. “Anyway, let’s go through every song first and find the ones that are usable.”
"I'll show you all the songs the production department sent after that!" the girl said expectantly.
"You wrote that song 'Instant' for your ex-girlfriend, so the song you wrote for me can't be any worse, right?"
"Don't talk nonsense." The boy picked up a mouthful of rice. "It wasn't just written for her."
Miss Idol winked cutely, "The song written for me would definitely be better, right?"
“…I’ll try.” He mumbled through his food.
The boy washed the dishes for lunch, while Yosuke Kurusu sat on the sofa watching TV. After Jun Matsueda took off his apron and walked out of the kitchen, the girl turned around and watched him go into the bedroom. Two minutes later, he came out after changing his clothes.
"Is Songzhi going out this afternoon?" she asked, turning around and leaning against the sofa.
Jun Matsueda nodded. "Let's go to the movies with Tomatsu."
"That's going too far!" Kurusu Yosei straightened up and glared at him.
"I painstakingly cook for you, and you just run off to date other women like this!"
“Don’t we take turns cooking on weekends…” the boy glanced at her.
"Besides, Tomatsu is my girlfriend. So who are you?"
The girl opened her beautiful eyes wide.
"Just tell me now, 'My favorite Kurusu-san, please date me!' and I'll be your girlfriend!"
Matsueda Jun smiled and said, "Then could Miss Kurusu tell me first, 'I really want to be Matsueda's lover'?"
"Sure," Miss Idol nodded. "You finish speaking first, then I'll speak."
If this continues, we'll be stuck in a childish "you go first" cycle. The boy shook his head helplessly, grabbed his keys, and headed out.
"I will come back on time to cook."
Yosei Kurusu made a face at his back.
"Woman!"
Fifteen minutes later, Jun Matsue sat in the Keio Inokashira Line tram, watching the full sunlight passing by the window gradually slow down.
"Next stop, Hamadayama, Hamadayama, the left door will open..."
He quietly looked out the window.
The tram stopped at the platform of Hamadayama Station, and the girl's white dress swayed in the wind, catching his eye.
The tram doors opened with a mechanical whirring sound. Tomatsu Yuka first poked her face into the carriage, gave the boy a charming smile, and then walked over to him, her scent of sunshine lingering in her eyes.
"The weather's really nice today~" She sat down and naturally put her arm around the boy's. "There's still about half an hour before the movie starts. Shall we take a walk around the neighborhood?"
“No problem.” Jun Matsue watched as the girl’s pure white skirt clung to his trousers.
Her soft hair fell onto her shoulder, tickling her a little.
"But I don't know where to go, so I can only follow you."
“Luckily I checked it out beforehand~” Tomatsu Yuka’s smile carried a hint of pride. “There’s a small exhibition going on at a nearby cafe, we can go check it out together.”
The boy nodded, and the girl took out her phone from her pocket and looked at the messages she had received.
"Oh, right." She nuzzled the strong arm in her arms. "Yuna-chan messaged me this morning to ask how the invitation to Yamami-senpai was going."
Yuna-chan is the name of this year's brass band club president, Jun Matsue blinked.
"Just tell them we're already waiting for a reply."
Tomatsu Yuka tilted her head back. "Tsunku already asked her?"
"Not yet." The boy looked into her eyes. "But I'll ask."
"I see." The girl nodded.
"There's one more thing I want to tell Yuka."
"what's up?"
"Senior Yamami has moved out of her family home."
Jun Matsue sensed that the woman beside him fell silent for a moment.
Although she didn't express herself very directly, the girl could definitely understand the attitude her senior showed when moving.
Tomatsu Yuka's eyelashes trembled.
Instead of pondering it silently as usual, she asked directly.
"What does Jun-kun think?"
The sense of security and happiness she felt by the boy's side made her willing to take a small risk and speak up.
"I haven't thought about it much," the boy said honestly, "but I definitely support her in doing it."
Because of the previous entanglements with the girls, he felt it necessary to explain these things to his girlfriend—that was just Jun Matsue's opinion.
Looking back at the sunlight streaming through the window, Tomatsu Yuka blinked nonchalantly.
"I see..."
Chapter 709 Invitation to Attend
On Monday morning, the last period was physical education class. Jun Matsue sat on the lawn, looked up at the somewhat gloomy clouds above Haneoka High School.
"The feeling of autumn is getting stronger and stronger..."
"Does Mochizuki think so too?" He turned his head and looked at the girl sitting not far away, hugging her legs.
The aloof girl with her high ponytail ignored him and instead looked at the other side of the track.
Girls in sportswear were passing a soccer ball around on the playground, their movements a little clumsy.
Today, both boys and girls are practicing soccer in PE class, but she happens to be on her period, which is why she's unfortunately sitting on the grass, enduring the harassment of those pesky pine branches.
"So why is Mochizuki sitting here all alone?" the boy asked with a smile.
The girl didn't seem to realize that she had only herself to blame—while the other girls who had asked for leave were all sitting at the other end of the playground, she was the only one sitting alone on the grass here.
"Because they're too noisy," Mochizuki Haruka said with a stern face.
She glanced at the other end of the playground, where the girls sitting together were whispering to each other.
"Once women gather together idly like that, they start gossiping about meaningless things—and no matter how aloof you are, they have the courage to ask you gossip questions."
Jun Matsueda chuckled twice. "I guess you're more comfortable when it's just the two of us together?"
As if amazed by someone's shamelessness, the girl glanced at him, then quickly turned her face away.
"So what kind of gossip do they talk about now?" he continued.
But Mochizuki had lost interest in answering, so the boy on the lawn changed his posture and changed the subject.
"To be honest, I still don't know what Jinzhi is allergic to."
“…Beef.” The girl uttered the two words lightly and concisely, like an ice cube falling into water.
"So there's beef in cat food?" Jun Matsue looked at her in surprise.
Mochizuki Haruka nodded silently. "It's been changed to chicken and salmon now."
It seems to eat more than—
The boy tried to push his luck by speaking further, but the girl turned and glanced at him before standing up and walking away.
Why did they suddenly run away? Jun Matsue turned his head and looked in the direction she was looking.
In front of the vending machine not far away, Natsumi Imokawa bent down, picked up a bottle of Pocari Sweat, and walked over.
"Pine branches~"
The girl greeted him, then looked at Mochizuki Haruka who had walked away.
"Should I not have come?" she asked cautiously.
Jun Matsueda waved his hand, "It has nothing to do with Imagawa."
Wangyue probably just didn't want others to see them alone—if the two of them could sit together and chat, what kind of cold war would it be?
"Oh……"
Natsumi Imokawa stopped about a meter away from the boy, but perhaps feeling it was too far, she secretly moved two more steps.
She sat down and took a sip of her Pocari Sweat.
"Have you and Mochizuki made up yet?"
"Not yet." Jun Matsueda watched the girl's retreating figure. "But my relationship with her hadn't gotten much worse to begin with."
"No matter how much couples argue, they are still couples."
"But a lot of couples break up after arguing," the girl sitting next to him said without hesitation.
"I watched 'Love Like a Bouquet' before, and those loving couples all—"
"Stop!" The boy blocked her way with one hand. "Let's change the subject, let's not talk about relationships."
“…Oh.” Natsumi Imokawa nodded, picked up the Pocari Sweat between her legs, and took another sip.
It's always like this... she thought sullenly. Now, every time the topic of pine branches comes up, he immediately changes the subject.
Where is that pine branch that I used to confide in? When did it disappear?
Although it was a bit of a letdown, she obediently changed the subject.
"My qualification review report has been sent to the East China University of the Arts, and I expect to receive the results in the next couple of days."
"That was fast." Jun Matsueda turned his head. "This kind of review usually doesn't cause any problems, right?"
The girl nodded. "My report card meets the requirements, so there's no problem."
"So, only the final entrance selection remains?"
“Yes!” Natsumi Imokawa squeezed the plastic bottle in her hand.
"After another two weeks of studying professional knowledge, it will be the decisive moment!"
"Keep it up!" the boy smiled. "If you work hard for another two weeks, Imokawa will be free."
"Hmm!" The girl squeezed the Pocari Sweat in her hand so hard it made a cracking sound.
"I'm going to take my camera and wander around the streets for ten days beforehand!"
The school bell rang abruptly from the distant school building, its melodious music piercing through the barbed wire fence at the edge of the playground and passing over the two people's heads.
