Jun Matsue smiled and picked up the menu again.
"By the way, Tsun-kun is in the same class as Yoshida-san today, right?" Tomatsu Yuka suddenly sent a voice message, and the boy blinked.
"Yes, what's wrong?"
"Did she... invite you to dinner or anything?" the girl asked cautiously.
As a cunning young woman, even though she has been spending more time with her parents lately, she can't escape the notice of anything happening around her sweetheart.
“I told her I have a girlfriend.” Jun Matsueda’s reply was simple and direct.
There was a pause in the chat box for a few seconds, and the last thing the girl sent was a happy, hopping rabbit.
Chapter 571 The Remaining Days, the Sudden Drop in Temperature
At 3:30 p.m., Jun Matsue, carrying a paper bag from a dessert shop, knocked on the door of his apartment building.
"Come on~"
Yosei Kurusu's voice came from behind the door, but when the security door opened, what appeared in front of the boy was Haruka Mochizuki's white T-shirt.
"You even have to fight over something like this, you're so boring." The idol standing behind her snorted.
As Jun Matsue changed his shoes in the entryway, the two girls in front of him seemed to have no intention of backing away, but instead turned sideways and stood on either side of him.
The boy, head bowed, had his view filled by the girls' legs.
Her legs were fair and smooth, without any excess fat. Her cool-toned skin looked exceptionally delicate, with a jade-like luster that made one want to reach out and wrap their arms around her ankles and gently stroke them.
The other pair of legs was even more rosy and plump. Compared to the straight and slender lines of the former, her thighs and calves had a slight curve, which was the result of a firm body trained through dance and yoga. The best way to appreciate it is to reach out and press your hand on it, letting the girl's skin slide against your palm and feel the indescribable elasticity and warmth.
"You've been staying at home all day?" Jun Matsue looked up after changing his shoes.
“I invited Aya-chan over to play this morning~” Yosei Kurusu seemed quite happy, “but she had to work this afternoon, so she left after lunch.”
The girl suddenly remembered something, "Matsue, let me tell you, halfway through my game with Aya, Mochizuki Haruka came out of your room!"
"...Is that so?" Jun Matsue blinked and looked at the silent girl beside him.
"I just took a nap," Mochizuki Haruka said casually.
The idol was indeed startled. The girl thought that after she left the boy's bedroom last night, Matsue had been ambushed by that wretched Mochizuki again.
"My bed isn't as comfortable as the young lady's bed," Jun Matsue said, carrying a paper bag as he walked to the dining table. The girls sat down beside him without hesitation.
"How did you manage to have lunch?"
"Pizza," they both said in unison.
It's good that there was no argument. The boy took two puddings out of the paper bag.
"Caramel yogurt pudding for Mochizuki, mango panna cotta pudding for Kurusu."
"Don't you eat pine branches?" Yosei Kurusu blinked.
"I'm not interested."
She stared at the yellow pudding in front of her for a moment, then asked, "Is Songzhi going to cook dinner tonight?"
The boy nodded. "You're going to eat before you leave, right?"
"Mmm!" The girl used a spoon to cut the pudding in half. "Pine Branch, eat half for me. I want to eat more of your cooking tonight~"
“…Okay then.” Jun Matsueda took a plate from the kitchen and took the idol’s pudding.
He had barely taken a couple of bites when Mochizuki Haruka cut open her own nama chocolate pudding and pushed it in front of him.
"The chocolate one is delicious too."
The boy glanced at her, then silently put the two halves of the pudding together—the mango milk and chocolate caramel transformed into a complex and wonderful flavor in his mouth.
It wasn't particularly delicious, but it was also quite addictive...
After finishing their dessert, Jun Matsueda watched TV with the girls for a while. Soon it was five o'clock, and he got up from the sofa.
"I'll go prepare the ingredients first."
Mochizuki Haruka and Kurusu Yosei also wanted to get up, but the boy reached out and pressed them down.
"The kitchen is full of grease and smoke, so don't come in and join the fun. Just wait quietly for your meal."
Cooking is never an easy task, and if you also have to listen to the girls chattering and bickering around you, it's even more troublesome.
Matsueda Jun's footsteps disappeared behind the sofa. Mochizuki Haruka turned her head, and the boy wearing an apron made eye contact with her before closing the glass door to the kitchen.
The girl turned around and met the gaze of Yosuke Kuriki beside her.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" The sofa felt much emptier now, and she distanced herself from her rival.
"You've changed so much!" Miss Idol stared at her intently. "You have no sense of security at all, and you're even more possessive of your food than your cat."
"..." Mochizuki Haruka's face hardened, her thin lips pressed into a straight line. "Why are you asking this question when you already know the answer?"
"You're not Matsue's girlfriend, so why are you in such a hurry?" There wasn't much malice in Kurusu Yosei's words; it was just pure confusion.
However, it was precisely this arrogant disbelief that made Mochizuki Haruka even more annoyed.
“Because I am the best candidate for his love.” The girl’s gaze became aggressive. “Not you, but me, Matsue said it himself.”
"So I'm really worried. You should go back and be your idol in peace, and stop thinking about Songzhi every now and then!"
"..." Kurusu Yosei was silent for a while. She looked at the TV in front of her. The screen was showing an advertisement she endorsed—glamorous, bright and charming.
"That's because I'm an idol, otherwise I would have won over Matsue long ago."
The girl was somewhat angry, unsure whether she was angry at a certain unwavering boy or at herself.
"Say what you want, just don't come here again." Mochizuki Haruka said coldly.
"No way!" Kurusu Yosei suddenly turned her head, stuck out her bright red tongue, and made a provocative face at the girl.
"Anyway, I'll be his roommate until Songzhi graduates—we'll be living under the same roof!"
"What I have to do with Matsue is none of your business," Miss Idol said with her eyes.
The two women stared at each other for a few seconds, then simultaneously turned to look at the television. Their gazes remained fixed, as if they wanted to stare a hole through the screen.
The living room then fell silent, with only the sounds of chopping vegetables and the stove being turned on coming from the kitchen.
Twenty minutes later, the sound of stir-frying in the kitchen gradually subsided, and Yosuke Kurusu was the first to stand up and walk towards the dining table.
"From that senior in Matsueda to Yuka-chan now, girlfriends can be changed. You can always be the next one with the highest priority."
Mochizuki Haruka sat motionless on the sofa, her clenched fists pressing against the fabric, leaving deep dents.
When Jun Matsue came out of the kitchen, the girls were already seated at the table. Yosei Kurusu picked up her chopsticks with a bright smile, while Haruka Mochizuki stared blankly at the golden fried shrimp on the table.
Although nothing seemed out of the ordinary, the boy could clearly sense a change in the atmosphere in the living room.
He sighed inwardly, choosing not to expose the matter.
Kurusu is leaving soon, and the apartment will return to normal afterward.
Dinner in room 507 was as delicious as ever, but the three of them were rather quiet. After dinner, Kuriki Yosei started packing her suitcase; she was getting ready to leave.
At 6:20 p.m., Miss Idol pushed open the apartment door with her suitcase. She stopped in the entryway and looked at the boy who had just finished washing the dishes.
Jun Matsue took off his apron, walked behind the sofa, and spoke to Haruka Mochizuki, who had her back to him.
"I'll bring it downstairs."
There was no response, so he went around to the front of the sofa, half-squatted in front of the girl, and looked into her eyes.
"I've brought it downstairs. I'll be right back."
“…I understand.” Mochizuki Haruka reluctantly uttered a few words.
The boy breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the girl waiting at the door. A few seconds later, the soft sound of the door closing echoed in the quiet room.
After the two footsteps outside the door faded away, Mochizuki Haruka stood up and walked out of the apartment. She stood in the corridor and looked at the two people downstairs.
The boy and girl didn't do anything extra when they parted. Yosei Kurusu stomped her foot, as if asking for a hug, but Jun Matsueda just waved and watched her get into her manager's car.
However, Mochizuki Haruka's mood did not improve at all. Her hands were pressed on the railing, and her knuckles turned slightly white from the force.
Recalling the last words Kurusu Yosei said to her, the girl turned and walked into the room, slamming the door shut behind her.
There are thirteen days left until the end of May.
She wouldn't be in a good mood for the rest of the days.
Chapter 572 Mochizuki Haruka's Temper
May 21st, Wednesday.
With ten days left in May, Jun Matsue walked arm in arm with Kaori Mochizuki in a park in Suginami Ward.
The two walked slowly, their footsteps rustling on the deserted grass. The boy looked up at the loneliest new leaf in the shade of the tree, a drop of raindrop hanging from its swaying tip.
It suddenly rained on Monday, and the temperature dropped for two days. The cloudy sky turned gray and gloomy until it cleared up today.
“Cut!” Natsumi Imokawa, who was walking alongside the couple, put down her camera. “This take is good.”
"Matsueda acted very well this time. In this scene, Kashiwabara Hikaru had this absent-minded feeling—although he was in a relationship with Matsu Yuko, he didn't really like Yuko that much."
The girl's satisfied evaluation was like savoring a delicious meal. Matsueda Jun smiled helplessly, and his aunt beside him released his arm and fanned him.
"So this game is over?"
Natsumi Imokawa nodded. "Ms. Matsue and Ms. Hana, please take a rest."
The woman stretched and walked to a park bench not far away, where she sat down. A maid standing by held an umbrella over her, and the sunlight filtering through the trees was quite intense.
Jun Matsueda walked over to his director and looked at the video that had just been filmed. Natsumi Imokawa moved a little closer to him so that the boy could also enjoy the cool breeze from the small electric fan hanging on her chest.
"Are we going to continue filming later?" he asked, staring at his own melancholy reflection on the camera screen.
"Hmm..." The girl glanced at the time on the camera, then looked up at the sky outside the woods. "Let's shoot one more shot and then we'll be done. It's getting late."
They arrived after school, and although the filming went relatively smoothly, it was already past five o'clock.
"Okay." The boy looked at the sparkling water droplets among the trees. "Speaking of which, has the Tokyo University of the Arts information booklet that Imokawa ordered arrived?"
“They just arrived yesterday!” Natsumi Imokawa’s expression became excited. “The film department is recruiting forty people this year, two more than last year.”
"I thought the number of spots would be reduced, which would be more troublesome..." As the girl spoke, the excitement in her tone disappeared, and Jun looked at her in confusion.
"I'll tell you another day." She picked up the small fan hanging around her neck and pointed it at the boy's face.
"Because Songzhi has been preoccupied lately."
Jun Matsueda blinked in surprise. He didn't deny what Imagawa said, but turned his head to look at the woman sitting on the bench.
Today was supposed to be a scene between him and his aunt, but a certain girl who had promised to inform him in advance parted ways with them at the school gate after school.
"Is it because of Mochizuki-san? Or is it because of Tomatsu-san?" Natsumi Imokawa asked, blinking.
"Actually, it's about one thing." The boy smiled.
"Oh..." Natsumi Imokawa stared at his bangs, which were ruffled by the fan. "Can't you tell me this time?"
Jun Matsueda shook his head. "I have to make the decision myself, so I'll tell Imokawa after everything is over."
"Oh..." The girl suddenly felt at a loss. Her mouth opened and closed, and finally she uttered a sentence.
"Hey, keep it up! Songzhi, you can come to me anytime you have any troubles."
The boy smiled again, "Luckily, Imokawa has always been there for me."
Seeing that he did indeed have a happy smile on his face, Natsumi Imokawa felt relieved.
Twenty minutes later, the filming of the last shot was completed, and the boys and girls got into the Mochizuki family's black car.
Natsumi Imokawa's house was relatively close. The car stopped at the intersection of Nishi-Ogikubo. The girl with the camera slung her backpack over her shoulder, turned around, and waved.
"Goodbye, Miss Hua; goodbye, Songzhi."
"Bye-bye~"
Sitting in the back seat, Wang Yuehua waved with a smile. She watched the boy next to her looking out the car window. Only after the girl's figure disappeared at the apartment entrance did he turn around.
"Songzhi doesn't seem very happy today," the woman said bluntly.
Jun Matsue sighed, "Because Mochizuki has been unhappy these past few days, I'm unhappy too."
