He watched, his hands and feet icy cold, as a swirling, lightning-streaked cloud slowly peeked down into the center of the bay of the rocky atoll.
The scales on Zachasaman's head stood on end.
He knew what it was.
“It’s over,” Zacharsa muttered to himself.
Amidst the raging winds and torrential rain, the spiraling cloud head suddenly lengthened, merging with the wispy water vapor in the bay to form a long, thin waterspout. In just a few seconds, the diameter of the waterspout expanded dozens of times, transforming into a massive water tornado that almost completely enveloped the entire rocky atoll.
Naval buildings on all the islands of the reef atoll, whether wooden or brick, were all rapidly deforming and breaking apart, being swept into the sky along with numerous menacing figures.
In a split second, Joko grabbed his almost frantic boss and used a "psychic portal." The two appeared at the foot of the island, right inside the expanding waterspout, in the so-called "eye of the storm"—a windless zone.
The two, still shaken, looked around and their hearts sank.
There was indeed no wind at the center of the cyclone, but towering waves surged where the waterspouts met the sea. Waves came from all directions, converging at the eye of the storm, crests overlapping crests and troughs overlapping troughs. Thus, in the central bay of the rocky atoll, waves sometimes rose tens of meters high, and at other times collapsed into bottomless whirlpools, even more terrifying than the outer edge of the waterspouts!
Amidst such waves, massive ships collided with each other, seemingly losing all weight.
Some were tossed high above the sea surface, crashing into the water and shattering into pieces; others were sucked directly into the seabed by whirlpools and disappeared without a trace.
Moreover, the waves, tens of meters high, violently crashed and washed over every inch of the rocks in the reef atoll, sweeping away the remaining buildings that had managed to survive the waterspout.
Zacharsa and Joko squeezed into a crevice in the rocks before the giant wave hit. They held their breath and clung tightly to the crevice to keep themselves from being swept away by the wave.
I don't know how long I was in the water.
It seemed like a short time, yet it felt like an eternity.
Joko felt like his lungs were about to explode. He held his breath to the limit, and his fingers unconsciously loosened.
Just as the unstoppable force was about to take him away, suddenly, a fragment of a ship's keel, taller than a person, pierced the crevice and knocked him back.
Zachara grabbed Joko's arm, preventing the tsunami from taking away his last remaining subordinates.
The giant wave finally receded.
Ten minutes had passed, and the "weather manipulation" spell that Zoko had ordered the flying knights to cast with magic scrolls had taken effect, and the sky had cleared up.
Zachasa and Joko, panting heavily and exhaling salty seawater, poked their heads out from the cracks in the rocks and looked around.
In just a few minutes, everything changed.
The base on the rocky atoll was gone, and the hundreds of warships anchored in the central bay were nowhere to be seen. All that remained was a pile of scattered wreckage, still half-submerged in the giant waves, looking like toy models that had been brutally trampled by a naughty child.
Chapter 163 When Fortune Turns, Heroes Are No Longer Free
Zachara pushed away Joko's support, his eyes wide with horror, almost unable to believe that the tragic scene before him was real.
He stroked his left hand, which was adorned with a ring, longing for the three "prayer spells" that had once been stored within it, and also filled with utter hatred for the damned silver dragon traitor.
In the past, the Invincible Fleet had encountered enemies who wanted to manipulate storms to attack it, and those marine tribes also had great druids who could manipulate the natural climate.
Zacharsa simply rubbed the gemstone on his ring and prayed, "May the storm subside and the sun shine." In less than a second, the problem was solved.
"Prayer" is a ninth-circle arcane spell.
Zachaza himself is not a high-level spellcaster and cannot cast "Invoke". The magic in his ring is finite and can only be used once, so he only uses it when the entire fleet is in crisis.
Each time he made a wish, he would unleash a hundredfold fervor to commit massacres and genocide, offering his most gruesome prayers to his lord in the bloodiest of rituals, thus pleasing the omnipotent Red Dragon Lord. Satisfied, the lord would bestow a blessing, recharging his Three Wish Ring and replenishing the three "wish spells" consumed within.
Zacharsa misses that time terribly.
Under the protection of the Red Dragon King, no matter what difficulties they encountered, they could easily solve them. Everything was so simple and smooth, and they were invincible.
But at some point, things changed.
In the battle against that damned silver dragon traitor, most of the fleet's magical supplies, especially those of level seven and above, were exhausted. In order to match the power of the earthly divine kingdom, Zachasa used up all three "Prayer" spells in his ring, barely managing to neutralize the silver dragon's divine magic and lead the fleet away from the battlefield.
But what followed was the real nightmare.
No matter how many blood sacrifices Zachasa performed, there was no response: the Red Dragon Lord had fallen into a deep sleep since returning to Haysconti and no longer responded to his followers.
The origin of the "prayer technique" is gone.
Time comes and the world has the same force, and it is not free to transport heroes.
Zachara's only way to comfort his men was to gather the army and retrieve their lord's lost head: "Once we find the head, our lord will awaken, and we will once again be the invincible fleet we once were."
To achieve this goal, he wrote to the rulers of the coastal city-states that had been swept by the Invincible Armada, using both soft and hard tactics to demand that they provide ships and sailors, as well as to collect large quantities of food, fresh water, and other war supplies.
After a period of arduous reorganization, the fleet has finally recovered some of its strength. However, powerful and effective high-end magical items like the "Wish Spell" are still nowhere to be found.
This is also normal.
Magical items of that level are simply priceless; even if you have the money, there's nowhere to buy them.
This is because only top-tier spellcaster-craftsmen can create such magical items. Even in the vast and resource-rich Northern Federation, such outstanding talents are few and far between.
Zachasa could only write to the dragon lords of the various city-states who were still loyal to their lord, offering a large sum of money to purchase the scroll of "Prayer".
Before the magical item he had been longing for arrived, Ivy-Beate's attack came first.
With a single "weather manipulation" attack, the backbone of the invincible fleet was broken.
During routine fleet patrols, when Zhachasa commands numerous warships, he always orders the ships to spread out, maintaining a large, wide front across the sea. Even if a magical attack suddenly strikes overhead, it would at most damage one or two ships, preventing significant losses.
However, when the fleet anchored in the bay of the rocky atoll, hundreds of ships were crammed into the narrow waters.
A reef-shaped bay is a bay formed by several coral reef islands arranged in a circle.
Generally speaking, this type of terrain makes for a natural harbor.
No matter how strong the storm is outside, the central bay of the island is protected by the surrounding islands and reefs, so the waves are always much smaller than outside, which can provide good protection for ships.
However, no one expected that someone would create a tornado right in the middle of the roundabout.
As a result, the surrounding islands and reefs were no longer a safe haven, but instead became a death trap that prevented ships from escaping.
When the captains realized the situation overhead was dire and the commander-in-chief had failed to stem the storm as usual, they ordered their warships to move away from the roundabout. The storm caused ships to collide, and several waterways leading in and out of the roundabout were blocked.
The rest is history.
Ten minutes later, the flying knight's "weather manipulation" began to take effect, the sky cleared up, and the wind subsided.
Having narrowly escaped death, Zacharsa looked around and felt a deep, piercing pain in his heart:
Besides the frigates patrolling the waters near the island, most of the warships on the outer ring of the fleet also managed to escape in time. However, the main fleet ships anchored in the center of the bay around the island were completely destroyed.
His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked around breathlessly, even contemplating sacrificing himself for his lord.
Just then, a huge dragon head fell from the sky and crashed heavily onto the rocky ground not far in front of Zachasa. It then rolled into the water with a splash.
Zachasa wiped the water off his face.
When he saw the dragon's face clearly, his eyes widened, his legs went weak, and he almost couldn't stand up.
This is indeed the lord's head, but the divinity within it...
Zachasa roared wildly to the sky.
"I'll kill you, you thief who defiled my lord!"
He roared at the still-lingering cumulus clouds above, "I will definitely kill you!"
"Great."
Ivy Beatrice's eerie, multi-voiced voice rang out from above and behind him.
Zachasa turned around and saw those emerald green vertical pupils.
At some unknown time, a gigantic six-armed serpent demon stood atop the hill, looking down at the disheveled admiral and his flagship captain.
Her flawless upper body was wreathed in swirling golden flames.
Beside his lower body covered in black scales, Sink lay soaking wet, half-dead from the tornado.
Ivy Beatrice's eight hands each held a weapon: a silver-blue greatsword, a scarlet recurve blade, four finely crafted greatswords imbued with the power of "evil" and "chaos," and two cold iron spears, all gleaming in the early morning sunlight.
“That’s exactly what I was thinking too,” Ivy Beatrice said.
Chapter 164 The Legendary Soul-Seizing Sword
"As expected, a damned six-armed serpent demon. I should have known, I should have known..."
Zachasa stared intently at Ivy Beatrice, his bloodshot yellow eyes turning into two crimson blobs.
The scene of the dragon head being stolen is still vivid in my mind:
Inside the captain's cabin. Amidst the raging flames and thick smoke, a half-red dragon-blooded creature stood before the massive meteorite dragon's head, its feet planted firmly on its motionless eldest son… The sovereign's head, now a stone sculpture, shrank and vanished from her grasp. Then, the "blade shield" filling the cabin easily shredded her son's skull…
He roared, he screamed.
But she remained silent, only tilting her head to look at him, as if admiring his expression, before raising her hand and gently shaking her wrist—a gesture of "goodbye." It was like coaxing a child.
Although her appearance was vastly different from that of the Six-Armed Serpent Demon at that time, the lingering aura of purgatory, along with "Mind Control," "Blade Barrier," and the "Advanced Teleportation" she used during her escape, were all signature magical abilities of the Six-Armed Serpent Demon.
The excruciating pain caused the Dragon Admiral to shatter two of his molars.
Zachasa rubbed the gem on his left-hand ring while drawing a longsword from behind his back. The blade was jet black, yet it exuded an astonishing chill, with green fluorescent runes flickering incessantly. The hilt of the sword was engraved in the shape of a forked serpent's tail, with a Soul-Binding Gem delicately held between the two tips.
That was the legendary weapon, the "Soul-Seizing Sword".
The sword's edge, imbued with magic, is incredibly sharp, comparable to those enhanced with the "Sharp Edge" spell. Furthermore, once severely wounded by this Soul-Seizing Sword, the injured person is automatically imprisoned within the gauntlet gem.
“What a fine sword,” said the six-armed serpent demon, looking admiringly at Zachasa’s sword. “I like it.”
Zachara was so angry that he laughed instead.
But as soon as he uttered the first syllable "Ha," the six-armed serpent demon's body, coiled into a small mountain, suddenly straightened up, like a compressed spring suddenly springing up!
Before Zacharsa could even blink, the pair of emerald green eyes opposite him were already right in front of him!
Ivy Beat's speed and ferocity distorted the space around her charge path in the view of Joko, who was watching from the sidelines!
Eight magical weapons stirred up a storm of metal, engulfing Zachasa in it.
The Eight-Armed Version of the Secret Sword "Fried Fish Eleven"!
However, the rapid-fire sword strikes all missed their mark!
Her emerald-green eyes widened.
Ivy Beatrice saw it clearly: just as "Fried Fish Eleven" was about to chop Zachasa into mincemeat, the dragon seed vanished from her "Anti-Magic Field"!
Before she could make a move, Zacharsa appeared on the spot, his body rapidly expanding, doubling in size.
This is the effect of him rubbing the giantification ring.
Although Zachara's magical skills were not high, he could still recognize the six-armed serpent demon's "anti-magic field". The "anti-magic field" had a range of ten feet, and his enlarged size was enough to keep most of his body outside the "anti-magic field", making the magical equipment on his body and in his hands effective.
Without uttering a sound, the Dragon General, his eyes red, raised his sword and slashed fiercely at the unsuspecting Ivy Beatrice.
The blades clashed, producing a deafening roar.
Ivy Beatrice felt a sudden lightness in her four hands, and then saw half of a sword tip and spearhead clattering to the ground.
In the blink of an eye, Zachasa unleashed four sword strikes, cleaving all the cold iron spears and greatswords in her four hands in two!
It must be said that the admiral's combat power increased dramatically after losing his son, and the legendary Soul-Seizing Sword was indeed incredibly sharp, temporarily suppressing her instead.
Ivy Beatrice's mind suddenly felt alarmed.
With a single thought, jet-black scales suddenly enveloped her jade-like upper body.
The next second, Zachara disappeared again.
The legendary Soul Reaper, shimmering with green runes, slid across the scales covering Ivy Beatrice's kidney area.
With a piercing, sharp sound, the sword's edge drew a series of sparks across the scales.
The six-armed serpent demon only noticed out of the corner of her eye that Zachasa had appeared behind her at some point. Fortunately, the "Evil Aura" buff greatly enhanced the defensive power of her protective scales, blocking this incredibly insidious sword strike.
Zachasa let out a frustrated roar.
The legendary Soul Reaper's green runic blade seemed to transform into a streak of emerald light, slashing and stabbing directly at Ivy-Beate's head, which was unprotected by scales.
The next second, a green light flashed across the six-armed serpent demon's head, like ripples spreading across water, creating a wave in the air. Ivy Beatrice, however, remained unharmed.
Zachasa paused for a moment before realizing that this was the six-armed serpent demon's signature spell, "Projection."
Meanwhile, another Ivy Beatrice appeared silently behind Zachasa, her silver-blue greatsword and crimson recurve blade clashing left and right, slashing at the back of his neck and lower back respectively.
Just as the blade was about to strike, Zachasa vanished once again.
Meanwhile, Joko Widodo was watching the rapid, dazzling exchange of blows with bated breath when suddenly a sharp pain shot through his chest and back. He opened his mouth and coughed up mouthfuls of blood.
Joko trembled violently as the tips of two greatswords pierced his chest. His gaze was vacant as he saw Zacharaza appear in his place, looking towards him with a mixture of shock and anger.
