Chapter 31: Talent Shortage
Chapter 31: Talent Shortage
Several brothers were eager to try their luck, but they didn't expect that Tony was the richest among them, and he actually pulled out 600,000 in one go.
They managed to scrape together over three million yuan by piecing it together from various sources.
We've scraped together enough money, but what we lack most right now is talent. These idiots are good for fighting, but if you expect them to run a business, they'll ruin even the best ideas.
Recruiting talent must be put on the agenda.
"Boss, your coffee is ready!"
A short-haired girl with big eyes and a short skirt that slit up to her thigh placed a freshly brewed Americano on Song Zhaowen's table.
Those eyes, brimming with water, clung to Song Zhaowen like hooks.
Rich, young, and handsome—if I could get a job with him, my secretary could become a boss's wife and skip a lifetime of hard work!
"Rimi, your eyes are a little lecherous."
The female secretary in front of me, who looks remarkably like Nina Li Chi, is a mainland girl from Hong Kong who moved there. She's originally from Shenzhen and was introduced to me by a business partner there. She's a very capable girl, but she speaks in a slightly saccharine way and likes to wear low-cut tops, making her large breasts sway so much that it's dizzying.
If Song Zhaowen hadn't been so busy lately, he would have definitely shown her what it means to have a secretary do everything when there's work to be done, and to have a secretary do everything when there's nothing to do.
"Oh, boss, how could you say that to me? I'm still a young girl!"
Limei raised her little pink fist and gently punched Song Zhaowen's shoulder.
"By the way, have you finished submitting the job posting I asked you to?"
"Boss, you've already arranged everything for me. The interviewer is downstairs."
"Oh, then let them come up; and oh, and prepare a few more cups of coffee."
You can have sex with a secretary anytime, since you can't escape it anyway; but when it comes to making money, you must always put the right attitude first.
At the factory gate, three men, dressed in well-pressed suits with neatly combed hair and carrying briefcases, looked like elite white-collar workers in the city.
The handsome young man in the center is Ye Rongtian. To his left stands Ma Zhiqiang, a slightly stocky man with a bewildered expression, and to his right is Xu Wenbiao, a man with gold-rimmed glasses and a calm demeanor.
(All three are from Genesis)
The three of them stared at the trucks coming and going, as if they were studying some profound subject.
"Hey, Tian," Ma Zhiqiang couldn't help but fan the dust in front of him, frowning and complaining, "You're saying our next takeoff point is right here? The city's real estate tycoon, Boss Huo, offered you a job as a professional manager, but you refused. Instead, you brought Wenbiao and me to this rural area to starve? Look at all this dust! This suit of mine is brand new!"
Ye Rongtian ignored his complaints, instead pointing at the trucks with an excited, condescending tone: "Hey, Zhiqiang, can't you figure anything out? Stop worrying about your suit!"
Ma Zhiqiang shook his head blankly: "The trick? Ah Tian, you're at it again? Just say what you want to say, stop beating around the bush!"
Xu Wenbiao adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, his gaze behind the lenses calm and sharp: "Rongtian, are you referring to the frequency of those trucks entering and leaving, and the load marks?"
"That's right." Ye Rongtian snapped his fingers, his eyes gleaming like he'd discovered a gold mine. "Look, these trucks came from the Shenzhen port. Their tire tracks are deep, meaning they're carrying heavy loads, and the goods are freshly delivered. And over there, several empty trucks are preparing to drive in and load goods. This 'Juicy Food Factory' has only been open for less than a month, and its products haven't even officially hit the market yet, but it already has such a large-scale intake of raw materials and potential shipments ready. What does that mean?"
Ma Zhiqiang blinked: "So...their boss is very rich? Or very good at bragging?"
Ye Rongtian slapped him on the shoulder with exasperation: "Idiot! This means they either have extremely strong market confidence and pre-sale channels, or they have strong capital backing and are stockpiling inventory on a large scale! Either way, it proves that this company is not a small-time operation, and more importantly..."
He lowered his voice and gestured vaguely towards the depths of the factory. "I just pretended to pass by and chatted briefly with a guy at the entrance who looked like a foreman. He said the boss was a young man, decisive and efficient, and... not like a typical businessman. Do you know what that means?"
Xu Wenbiao chimed in, "That means opportunity. Traditional industries have rigid structures, making it difficult for newcomers to stand out. But new companies led by energetic young people from unconventional backgrounds are often daring and unpredictable, offering huge opportunities for advancement and a higher demand for and tolerance of talent. Rongtian, are you attracted to this company's 'newness' and 'ambition'?"
"Wenbiao really understands me!" Ye Rongtian laughed. "Boss Huo's place is stable, but big companies have too many rules and regulations. If the three of us go there, we'll just be high-level employees. Realizing our ambitions will take forever. But this place is different. It's in its early stages, everything is in need of rebuilding, which is the perfect place for us to show our talents. You saw that recruitment ad; they're hiring for key positions in production, sales, marketing, and finance. They're clearly building a complete team. If we can get in, we might even be able to occupy a core position..."
"It's true that Boss Huo's place is a golden opportunity, but that's someone else's golden opportunity. What these small companies with potential lack are professionals like us who understand management and the market, and can help them grow their business and take it public! No matter how well I do at Boss Huo's place, I can only get a small annual salary. This is different. If you do well, you can also get equity."
Ma Zhiqiang was still somewhat hesitant: "Ah Tian, what you said is very good. But what if... I mean, what if this boss really is the kind of person who 'doesn't seem like a normal businessman,' like... someone who does shady things? Wouldn't we be on a sinking ship then?"
Ye Rongtian put his arm around Zhiqiang's shoulder and said earnestly, "Zhiqiang, fortune favors the bold! Look at Hong Kong, how many successful tycoons made their first fortune? How many of them were honest? The important thing is to see the momentum, to see if there's anything to do! Besides, we're going there to work, not to join a gang. He does his thing, we do ours, and we'll earn our living through our own abilities. If he really is doing shady stuff, we can even use his influence to quickly accumulate our own capital and connections!"
Ye Rongtian is exactly the same as he appears on TV; he definitely sees things more deeply than others.
They could see the factory's potential at a glance.
Xu Wenbiao calmly added, "Rongtian is right. However, Zhiqiang's concerns are also valid. Let's get to know each other first, observe more during the interview, and probe more. If things don't feel right, we can always back out. But this opportunity is definitely worth trying."
As they were talking, a muscular man wearing a black tight-fitting T-shirt walked out of the factory gate, glanced at them, and then picked up the microphone and said something to the person inside.
Soon, the voluptuous secretary, Li Mei, who wore a business suit that couldn't hide her curves, came out with a professional, sweet smile: "You three must be Mr. Ye, Mr. Ma, and Mr. Xu, right? Our boss would like to invite you upstairs. Please follow me."
