For an ordinary human to pick it up would be like a one-year-old trying to lift a two-meter-long warhammer, or even more exaggerated.
"My God, these are the legendary Guardian weapons! Just like in the records, the Guardians are all enormous giants." Jaina recited some ancient records from Dalaran.
"Rhodes, are you sure I can use this weapon?" Uther asked, looking puzzled.
"Don't worry, Lord Uther, just go up and pick up this warhammer."
"This is a weapon forged with Titan technology. Once it gains its approval, it will transform into a size you can use," Rhodes said confidently.
“Lord Uther, Lord Rhodes is right. Just go up and make this warhammer accept you, and it will shrink to the size that suits your use,” said the leader of the Tyr Guardians.
Uther nodded and was about to step forward to touch the sacred warhammer when a surge of shadow power appeared in the room.
A monster about six meters tall, covered in disgusting tentacles, appeared.
"Everyone be careful! This is a Faceless One created by the Old Gods, different from the one we just faced," Tyr's Guard warned immediately upon seeing the monster.
Unlike the three Faceless Ones we just encountered, this Faceless One was much larger and emitted a more terrifying shadow energy.
The three Faceless Ones were merely the shadow energy left behind after the death of Zarkaz, the Faceless One general, while this one was clearly sent by the Old God to protect him.
"Prepare for battle, paladins!"
"Great Holy Light, protect us!"
Uther charged forward, raising his warhammer.
In this battle, Uther led a group of paladins and Tyr's Guard to act as tanks in front, while the ordinary Lordaeron soldiers played a passive role, basically just clearing out the small monsters. They were not qualified to fight against the powerful Faceless Ones.
Rhodes' eyes were sharp. He noticed two more Faceless Ones emerging from the shadows behind the altar, gathering even more powerful shadow energy. Their target was clearly Jaina, who was casting a spell!
Rhodes was basically just coasting through the entire fight, only using Holy Light Flash once, so he didn't draw much aggro.
In contrast, the female mage consistently unleashed powerful frost magic attacks, making her a target for these faceless beings.
"Gina, watch out!" Rhode shouted, releasing the magic arrow he had prepared beforehand!
"Boom!"
A blinding blue lightning bolt tore through the darkness, accompanied by a shrill whistling sound that ripped through the air, and struck precisely the chest of a Faceless One who was charging up its power!
The hard shell shattered like paper in the face of pure heroic magic's destructive power, splattering purplish-black flesh and slime everywhere!
The Faceless One let out an extremely shrill soul scream, its massive body flying backward and crashing heavily onto the altar base. Unfortunately, this attack still failed to kill the Faceless One.
"Thanks, Rhodes!" Jaina was still shaken; if Rhodes hadn't reminded her, she might have been hit by a shadow spell.
Rhodes nodded to Jaina, then raised his hand and cast two group protection spells, Aegis of the Immortal and Stone Skin, which covered almost everyone present.
With Rhodes' magical protection, the paladins fought even more bravely under the protection of his Holy Shield.
Even after increasing his power, the magical arrow he released, with a destructive power of forty points, still failed to kill his opponent.
The strength of the Unmutable Ones far surpasses that of ordinary Abominations.
The other faceless being let out a terrifying laugh and released shadow spells from its beads with both hands. Upon seeing this, Rhodes immediately cast Divine Shield on himself, along with Arcane Shield.
The dark shadow shockwave slammed into Rhode's holy shield. The arcane shield fluctuated violently, its light flickering, but it ultimately did not shatter, successfully protecting Rhode.
"Blizzard!" "Ice Cone!"
A large cloud of ice suddenly formed at the top of the cave, and countless sharp ice cones crashed down like meteorites!
The ice spikes not only carried physical impact but also contained bone-chilling icy magical energy, enveloping the slow-moving Faceless Ones, shattering their shells, freezing their slime, and causing them to wail in agony.
Uther, like a golden god of war, charged forward, his warhammer wielding a divine storm that completely purified a Faceless One, already severely wounded by the blizzard and Tyr's Guard, into a pile of charred remains.
At this moment, Uther was completely infused with the power of holy light, and the powerful holy light caused fierce damage to the surrounding shadow creatures.
The Faceless One sent by the Old God was indeed powerful, but they were facing Uther, the most powerful paladin among humans today.
If this Faceless One had appeared anywhere else, he could have wiped out a large group of paladins in an instant, but unfortunately, he was facing Uther the Lightbringer.
Soon, the Faceless One could no longer withstand the onslaught of the crowd, and the shadow power on his body was constantly being driven away by the powerful holy light.
Rhodes, anticipating the final blow, unleashed a magical arrow at the Faceless One, securing the final kill.
The enormous faceless being let out a scream before its body completely dissipated.
"We succeeded, we took him down."
"This servant of the ancient god has died at our hands." Everyone was excited.
“Lord Uther, take up the Silver Hand Warhammer!” Rhodes said as he approached Uther.
Uther nodded, then took a deep breath and stepped forward. At that moment, the Holy Light within him was calling to him to take up the legendary warhammer.
The moment Uther touched the warhammer, a divine light illuminated the entire tomb, and the Silver Hand warhammer reacted tremendously.
The Silver Hand warhammer quickly shrank to the size that fit Uther perfectly.
Uther, too, raised the warhammer high.
Chapter 41 Shadow Spells, Treasure Magic Scrolls?
On the altar, the Silver Hand Warhammer radiated a divine light in Uther's hands, and a vast and pure sense of divine power emanated from the hammer.
“By the Holy Light…this feeling…is amazing!” Uther gripped his warhammer tightly, his face filled with awe and devotion.
He could clearly sense that the warhammer contained not only power, but also Tyr's inherited will to uphold order and fight against evil.
This divine artifact seemed to become an extension of his limbs, with holy light flowing through it with unparalleled smoothness, amplifying its power.
"Congratulations, Lord Uther!" The leader of Tyr's Guard knelt on one knee excitedly.
"The Silver Hand has finally returned to the hands of its true heir!"
"Congratulations, Lord Uther."
"The true Silver Hand has appeared; he is the great Lightbringer, Uther."
"For Tyr! For order!" The other Tyr guards also saluted, and the morale of the crowd was greatly boosted.
Rhodes also had a big smile on his face. He had received a system notification right after the battle ended.
Ding dong! A glorious victory! You have gained thousands of experience points! Your level has increased to 5!
After thinking for a moment, Rhode added the extra attribute points to Knowledge. At this stage, magic points were the most important thing, and 60 magic points were barely enough to meet the needs of a battle.
After upgrading, Rhodes' hero skills can be upgraded from basic earth magic to intermediate level, or he can learn basic first aid.
Without much hesitation, Rhodes chose intermediate earth magic, which increased the power of both earth magic and Magic Arrow. Now, a single Magic Arrow deals a whopping 50 points of damage.
Unfortunately, this battle did not increase Rhodes's number of skeleton soldiers. These faceless beings and shadow creatures do not have a true physical body; they are pure energy beings, similar to elemental beings, and cannot be transformed into skeleton soldiers.
In addition to skill upgrades, Rhodes' Eagle Eye spell also came into play, as he learned two shadow spells, a Shadow Bolt, and a Mind Blast.
Both of these skills are considered low-level shadow spells, one consuming 0.1 mana and the other consuming 0.2 mana, neither of which consumes a very high amount of mana.
These two spells are quite practical. Shadow Bolt deals significant damage and is very unpredictable, while Psychic Scream is a mental attack.
As they entered the tomb, the shadow creatures and faceless beings continued to unleash this attack on them.
It's a pity that these two shadow spells can't be used easily! There aren't any shadow priests openly in the Alliance right now, so it would be hard to explain if I used them myself.
In addition, Rhodes also received three extra random wilderness resources, which were the rewards for killing the three Faceless Ones sent by the Ancient Gods.
The first reward for Rhodes was 500 gold units, which is the least valuable thing, equivalent to picking up some resources in the wild, and it's the most useless gold unit.
The second reward was 5 wood units. The first two rewards left Rhodes speechless. Damn it, why not give me something else that can increase hero attributes?
I wonder if I'll get a reward from killing a bunch of monsters in the future.
The third reward Rhodes received was a magic scroll, a special item in the Heroes of Might and Magic world.
As long as you have a magic scroll, you can put it in your clutter and learn the spells on it, even level 3, 4, or 5 spells. Even if you don't have the corresponding Wisdom spell, the magic scroll will still allow you to use these spells.
They will also enjoy bonuses from hero magic, treasures, or power.
This magic scroll is very valuable; it contains a level 5 spell.
Upon seeing this level 5 spell, it would be a lie to say that Rhodes wasn't tempted. Level 5 spells are the strongest spells in Heroes of Might and Magic, and even if a city's magic guild reaches its highest level, it can only produce one level 5 spell.
Thunder Bomb, Magic Mirror, Flight Magic, Dimensional Gate, Time Gate—all these practical spells are level 5.
The magic scroll contained level 5 magic, which slightly disappointed Rhodes. It wasn't one of the aforementioned bugged level 5 magics, but rather a spell to summon elements.
The four magic systems can summon four elements: air, water, earth, and fire.
What I obtained was a summoning spell that could summon fire elementals, consuming 25 mana to summon twice the power of fire elementals to fight.
Basic fire magic, reduces mana to 20 points; Intermediate fire magic, 20 mana, summons fire elementals equal to 3 times the power to join the battle.
Advanced fire magic, 20 mana, summons 4 fire elementals to fight.
These fire elements can exist for 24 hours and will dissipate after the battle ends; they cannot be permanently retained.
Well, to put it simply, this skill is completely useless for Rhodes right now; it's the kind of skill that's neither useful nor worth discarding.
I currently have 3 points of strength, without any fire magic bonus, and can summon six fire elementals by consuming 25 points of mana.
The fire elemental has 35 health, 10 attack, 8 defense, and a paltry 6 speed.
Summoning six fire elementals in a battle is not worthwhile; it's much more effective to unleash six magical arrows.
"What's wrong? Is something on your mind, Rhodes?" Jaina noticed that Rhodes's expression was a little off and quickly asked.
Rhodes' gaze fell upon the female mage, and a new idea immediately formed in his mind.
This spell costs 25 mana points, and mana points are quite precious, so let the female mage try it out and see how effective it is.
It also allows us to test whether Azerothian creatures can unleash hero magic through magic scrolls, and see how many fire elementals the female mage can summon.
“Gina, the great guardian just gave me a magical item.”
"The Guardian just contacted you! And bestowed upon you a magical item! I didn't sense the Guardian's presence at all?" The female mage looked shocked.
Could it be that the Titan Guardians have been watching them all along?
"Yes! He gave me a magical scroll. As long as I carry this scroll with me, I can cast the spells recorded on it without having to learn them at all." Rhode briefly explained the effects of his magical scroll.
"That's amazing?" Jaina exclaimed in surprise.
“Hmm! But as you know, I have a bit less magic power, so I’d like you to try out the effects of this spell,” Rhodes said.
"Really? Thank you, Rhodes, I'd be more than happy to." The female mage said excitedly.
