Chapter 67, First Prophecy
Chapter 67, First Prophecy
Chapter 67 The Second Prophecy
"An indescribable darkness. Approaching—, touching—, unease—"
"The terror of living beings! The fallacy of common sense—A chaotic world."
"Until someone gets close, a great disaster will ensue—"
Sibyl Trelawney whispered in a hoarse voice as she slept.
Ryan stood opposite her, barely daring to breathe, for fear of disturbing the orthodox local prophecy.
Moreover, he could tell that Professor Sybil's prophecy and the intelligence he had gathered seemed to point to the same goal.
This was truly strange. He thought to himself that there had never been a similar record before: two prophets making predictions about the same event.
It's also possible that it's because he's a cheater.
However, the prophecy was not over when Sybil Trelawney suddenly woke up: "Sorry, I think I just dozed off."
Why did he stop talking halfway through?! Ryan almost spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Sorry, sorry, I'll answer your question again now." She sat up and continued shaking the various props on the table. First, the cheat code turned into a riddle solver, then the professor became a fragmented dog; she felt like there hadn't been a good omen all day—"
Ryan could barely keep his smile going.
Sibyl's interpretation begins:
"Don't come near."
"I won't disturb them."
"I saw death."
"Amidst war, conflict, and shadows."
After uttering a few brief words, she concluded her explanation of the parable and said to Ryan, "This is my answer to your prophecy. I think perhaps you foresaw a great war in the future?"
Does the upcoming great battle refer to Voldemort's return?
Ryan wasn't sure if he was referring to Voldemort.
Furthermore, with Sybil Trelawney now awake in her godlike state, he didn't have much hope for Professor Sybil's usual explanation and simply replied, "Thank you, Professor."
"I'm glad I could help you, since you think I'm the most capable prophet," Sybil said, her voice filled with delight.
Although Lane really wanted to go to the headmaster's office to see Dumbledore right now, out of politeness, he still had a chat with Sybil, exchanging questions and discussing their views on the prophecy.
Ryan: It's surprising that we can talk about divination. As expected, Professor Sybil is only a half-baked expert in divination under normal circumstances.
Sybil Trelawney: I can actually talk to Lane Welsh, one of the most gifted prophets of this century, about prophecy. Do I really inherit a lot of talent from my ancestors?
Both of them were certain of their own guesses and for a moment they actually got along very well.
"Sybil, Ryan. Are you there? I heard from the students that Ryan came looking for you, and I also need to talk to you about something."
The sound outside the door interrupted their conversation; both recognized it as Dumbledore's voice.
"Headmaster Dumbledore!" Sybil Trelawney exclaimed in surprise, as this was the first time in many years that Dumbledore had come to visit.
If she hadn't gained confidence from her conversation with Lane and felt that she had a talent for languages, she probably would have thought that Dumbledore had come to dismiss him and replace him with a more qualified professor.
Ryan was puzzled. Why was Dumbledore in such a hurry to see him this morning?
Even though the two met in the principal's office last night, Dumbledore still acted like he was too busy with official business to get away and that you could go wherever you wanted.
Moreover, he said he wanted to find Ryan himself and Professor Sybil!
One is a master prophet and the other a professor who predicts the future; therefore, what he is about to say must be related to prophecy.
But what could possibly make someone like Dumbledore, who takes prophecy so lightly, come to two prophets for a prophecy?
Could it be that Old Deng dreamt last night that a meteorite was about to fall from the sky and hit Hogwarts?
Lane and Sybil were both puzzled. They exchanged a glance, then stood up at the same time to greet Dumbledore.
When the door opened, Ryan found that Dumbledore was still wearing the same wizard robes he had seen the night before, as if he hadn't changed them at all.
At this moment, Dumbledore's brows were furrowed, no longer displaying his usual kind old man demeanor.
"Headmaster, is there something important that you came to see Professor Trelawney and me so early in the morning?" Ryan asked first.
Dumbledore asked Lane, "I was originally going to find you, but I heard you were looking for Sybil, so I followed you."
"Yes, I made a prophecy, but I couldn't interpret it myself. So I asked the professor for help," Ryan said.
"You also made a prophecy?" Dumbledore asked instinctively.
What do you mean by making a prophecy?
The word "also" indicates that someone had already made a prophecy, and Dumbledore only came to me after knowing that this person had made the prophecy. Lane immediately got the answer.
Last night, Old Deng was dressed in a suit just to meet Grindelwald in secret! Perhaps it was Apparition, or perhaps it was a conversation over the fireplace.
As a result, he received a prophecy from Grindelwald!
This prophecy clearly had a great impact on Dumbledore.
So he rushed over to me, hoping I could give him an answer.
Having just learned that he was looking for Sybil Trelawney, he figured, "I'm just doing what I'm told, so I might as well ask them for help."
Ryan had pieced together the general course of events. In the past, at this time, he might have joked about where Dumbledore got his prophecy from.
But the information he had just obtained gave him an ominous feeling.
And Sibyl Trelawney has just made another real local prophecy that sounds dark and desperate.
Furthermore, Grindelwald may have made related predictions as well!
Three people in this world who can be called prophets made prophecies at the same time!
Ryan can now only pray that Grindelwald's prophecy does not point to the same thing as his and Professor Sybil's prophecy.
“It’s not just me,” he said. “Professor Sybil too.”
Sybil quickly said, "I was just helping Mr. Lane interpret the prophecy; I didn't do anything else."
Ryan looked at him and nodded to Dumbledore.
The next second he heard Dumbledore's voice in his mind: "Did Sybil just make a real prophecy?"
What kind of magic is that!
The thought had barely crossed Ryan's mind when he heard Dumbledore's voice continue, "A little trick for using spells, related to Legilimency, which can be seen as the reverse application of Legilimency, injecting your own thoughts into the other person's mind."
That was so magical, and definitely not a trick!
I wonder if Professor Snape could do it?
Furthermore, Professor Sibyl Trelawney has indeed just made a real prophecy!
Ryan answered in his mind. But he couldn't suppress all his thoughts; some ideas still surfaced.
"I think Severus probably knows those little tricks too, right?" Dumbledore's uncertain voice rang out.
