#1967 - The Destruction of Finnin (Part 2)

The enchanted warrior leader roared angrily, looking at the "Midnight Lords" clad in dark blue Terminator armor.

"You Eighth Legion scum! Your treachery will only lead to destruction!"

"Finally, some real action."

Sablinc reeled in his plasma gun, reached out to the side, and a battle-brother tossed him his weapon, a chain glaive, the chain teeth whirling to a scream.

An enchanted warrior charged out first. For these things, discipline and tactics were almost nonexistent, only the primal instincts that drove them.

As an 'experienced' sergeant of the Eleventh Company, and the most frequent recipient of Talos's education, Sablinc could be said to understand the combat methods of these Chaos traitors very well. Talos had taught him how to deal with every enemy he had ever encountered, and the best way to deal with this kind of semi-warp beast was to hunt them as a pack.

The Kentarcos emerged from the smoke, some standing beside Sablinc, others wielding rapid-firing plasma guns and meltas, firing from the flanks.

This forced the enchanted warriors to charge directly towards the warrior wielding the chain glaive in front of them.

Seeing the enemy approaching, Sablinc took the initiative, stepping forward with heavy steps, the chain teeth on the long haft buzzing and tearing through the body of an enchanted warrior.

The half-demon immediately convulsed on the teeth, before two chain glaives stabbed out from Sablinc's left and right, tearing its upper body to pieces.

None of the Eleventh Company's Kentarcos broke formation. Everyone moved in unison, providing coordinated cover to eliminate the charging enchanted warriors, whose combat power was far less terrifying than it looked.

Sablinc remembered Talos saying that most enchanted warriors now were just the scum of the scum. The truly strong would never deign to share their bodies with demons. Only during the Great Crusade had there been some more formidable demon warriors, but they were mostly dead, except for a few around Abaddon the Despoiler.

"Eighth Legion liars..."

The enchanted warrior leader spat out venomous saliva, his filthy demonic claws growing longer, his blood-red muscles engorged.

"...Thieves, cowards."

He dodged left and right at an extreme speed, avoiding the incoming fire. Then a Night Lord in Terminator armor strode forward, his glaive thrusting like a spear, but the enchanted warrior used his huge, deformed claws to knock the weapon aside, his legs exploding with power as he leaped towards the Night Lord, tearing at the Terminator's armor with horns and claws, leaving streaks.

At that moment, the sound of rushing wind arrived. The enchanted warrior leader sensed the danger and immediately jumped back, desperately using his claws to block the glaive swung by the towering Terminator. Each time the chain teeth and claws collided, a large number of sparks erupted.

Sablinc assaulted from the left, the chain teeth tearing off the enchanted warrior's arm, enraging the creature. Its ravaged body was surrounded by flames, and terrifying noises filled the air.

However, facing the siege of the Kentarcos Terminators, even its reckless attacks yielded no real gains. Finally, with a crisp sound, Sablinc's chain teeth plunged into its chest, followed by a second blow to its black iron-like neck, and a third to its back—

Soon it was nothing more than a pool of bloody flesh on the ground.

"Company Commander, it's done."

Sablinc looked at the twitching corpse on the ground and sent a message to Talos in the distance.

"Received. I've finished here too. Everyone, return to the ship."

Standing in the orbital station's command center filled with corpses, Talos pulled the chain glaive from the corpse of the Red Corsairs leader pinned to the wall and looked at Alvarez, who was busy.

"How is it going?"

"Done!"

Alvarez slammed a key on the keyboard, and the warning lights throughout the orbital station began to flash.

"It will crash to the ground in five minutes."

"Good, let's leave too."

As the entire Eleventh Company evacuated the orbital station and returned to the ship, Sablinc, who was the first to return, was already looking forward to a grand spectacle.

"I like this."

Leelin nudged Sablinc beside him with his elbow.

"So many enemies can be killed at once."

Sablinc did not respond, simply silently watching the scene outside the observation window. With the activation of certain programs, a series of impressive explosions pushed the orbital station out of its stable orbit. An orbital station typically consisted of a main body, docking bays, defense platforms, and detection platforms, but the gravitational pull of the planet caused the entire orbital station to collapse from the middle, dragging a large mass of fragmented metal wreckage, gleaming in the dazzling fire.

Perhaps most of the people inside still didn't know what was happening.

Escape pods were constantly launching from the orbital platform, but Talos did not order them to be targeted, as this destruction needed witnesses.

The whole process seemed fast, but was actually very slow. The orbital platform finally embarked on its inevitable path of destruction after orbiting eight times.

The large amount of debris ejected from it had left a dense trail around the planet, like the rings around those giant gas planets. The resistance of the atmosphere ignited the metal structures, beginning to consume the last intact parts.

As it gradually approached the planet, the large pieces of structure that broke off gradually glowed, like a red-hot iron ingot in a furnace, first dark red, then bright, and finally white-hot.

Perhaps when looking up at the sky from the ground, this would be a magnificent meteor shower.

However, this magnificence also meant destruction.

The giant main structure of the orbital station plunged straight towards the planet's largest hive city, the pre-determined crash coordinates set by Alvarez. Obviously, the hive city had also reacted, activating its defensive void shields.

But in a crash of this magnitude, the void shields were of little significance. Everyone could clearly see a fleeting flash of light suddenly appear on the planet's surface, followed by a rapidly expanding ring of incandescent fire, expanding rapidly in all directions, instantly vaporizing everything it touched, uprooting the magnificent hive city with overwhelming force.

Immediately afterwards, the enormous amount of dust rising into the atmosphere left a cloud of dirty black, and more exploding, red-hot debris rained down, adding to the fiery storm sweeping the land.

But this was not the end—

"Finally, let's leave Huron with a lifelong unforgettable memory."

With Talos's command, six virus bombs were launched towards various directions of the planet.

The bridge was very quiet, with only a few occasional impatient murmurs.

The moment those dirty green spots began to spread across the planet's surface, the Night Lords finally erupted in cheers, because they saw countless traitors dying. A smile also appeared on Sablinc's face. This was probably the most 'enemies killed' in this expedition, even though these people were still Imperial citizens not long ago.

"Alright, prepare to go back. Also, any information about this operation is strictly prohibited from leaking. Got that, you rabbits?"

"Yes, sir!"
